Yoga 50+ is aimed at more mature age groups who want to improve everyday flexibility, strength and balance through a mindful and safe yoga practice. The class is suitable for all levels, including complete beginners.

 What to expect

The first thing to expect is a warm welcome whatever your age or experience! But Yoga 50+ is special because it recognises and normalises the physical niggles and issues that often come along as we age.

The classes are gentle and slow paced so that they are easy to follow, starting with a gentle warm up and building up to postures that use our strength and balance in a fun but safe way for the to challenge the brain and body. We will finish with some cool-down postures done seated and lying down.

There will always be plenty of modifications to help keep you safe and happy on the mat. We always encourage you to let the class teacher know about any long-term or recent conditions/injuries that might affect your movement. The teacher will offer appropriate and discreet modifications to keep you safe and comfortable.

What you will need

Please bring a yoga mat (we do have a couple of spares if you need one) and a soft blanket is recommended for cushioning the body and cosying up during our final relaxation.

Wear loose joggers or leggings and a loose top or t-shirt. A second layer, such as a jumper or cardi, is always good to have for warm up and cool down.

If you can, avoid eating a big meal before your yoga practice. You’ll enjoy your movement much more if you don’t have a full stomach. But of course, if you need to, a light meal is perfectly fine.

Bring some water too. Even gentle yoga requires good hydration.

Please also complete the health questionnaire and bring to your first session if you haven't done one previously.

Throughout that time, I developed a deep passion for supporting and nurturing others. This eventually inspired me to broaden my knowledge and retrain in Yin Yoga, Energy Healing, and Aura Meditation.

Working in the healing arts is something I am truly passionate about. I enjoy helping people improve their wellbeing and supporting them on their personal journeys in a compassionate and holistic way.

Over the years, I have become a versatile and adaptable professional by embracing new roles, taking on additional responsibilities, and continually seeking opportunities to learn and grow. My naturally curious mindset and commitment to lifelong learning have allowed me to develop a wide range of skills and experiences.
