Wirework Dragonflies and Beaded bugs

The course aims to;

To build upon some jewellery making experience, (though beginners can be accommodated), to design and create a range of beautiful, nature based items to wear and to decorate your home.
All projects will take inspiration from nature, creating dragonflies and bugs in wire and beadwork and other materials.
There is flexibility within the course to, depending on prior experience.
Each week, we will design and produce a project, which over the weeks, incorporate a range of materials, ideas and techniques.

This course is for;

Jewellery makers with a love of wildlife.
It is ideal for those with jewellery making experience but also as a course to interest beginners.
Class sizes are small and the tutor has experience in teaching 2 or 3 different levels in one class.

The course does not include kiln work or etching or other chemical processes, but concentrates on hands-on skills.

There is considerable use of pliers and cutters and the course requires a reasonable level of dexterity.

For the first session students will need;

Pencil and notebook.
Container for taking home work.

By the end of the course students should be able to;

Design and make a variety of jewellery using mainly wirework, but also beading and integrating other materials.
Have gained confidence to design and make your own ideas into jewellery.
Find inspiration in the world around them, animals, plants etc and use it in their designs.

Continuing students will extend their skill levels working with more complex designs and introducing new materials.
