Social Media - Introduction to Facebook

This course is for; Anybody who is interested in how Facebook works and how to use it as an enriching addition to everyday life.

 For the workshop, students will need;

 

• A facebook account (this must be set up prior to the workshop by visiting facebook.com and following the set up instructions so that a basic account is formed).

• A laptop, or a smartphone or ipad/tablet

For smartphones and iPads/tablets, it is best to access facebook using the app:

The workshop will cover:

 A tour of Facebook - everything that you can access and enjoy from your account

 Privacy settings - how you are seen (or completely unseen)  by other people

 Uploading photos and videos, and sharing interesting content safely

 Safety pointers - things to be mindful of.

 

By the end of the workshop students should be able to: Use a Facebook account confidently in ways that are helpful and meaningful to themselves.
