This course allows you to acquire the basic elements of spoken and written Polish.

The course is divided in three terms and by the end of the three terms you learn how to express yourself in real life situations in a Polish speaking country.

Sessions are fun, interactive and gently paced.

Course learning outcome:

Learn to understand and use familiar everyday expressions and basic phrases. Introduce yourself and others. Ask and answer questions about yourself and have simple conversations such as where you live, people you know, and things you possess.
Learn to interact with others at a beginner level.

The course will cover:

- Introducing yourself and asking someone to introduce themselves.

- Giving personal information

- Asking someone their address and where they come from.

- Asking for directions and describe location

- How to use transportation (metro/bus)

- Understanding and expressing time

- Asking questions about shopping

- Ordering at a café or restaurant

- Talking about the weather

For the first session students will need pen and paper only. Students will be provided with handouts/worksheets.

Zofia Donnelly

I am fluent in all aspects of Polish having been brought up in England by Polish parents.
I have a passion for languages and studied Polish, French and Spanish at school and specialised in French at University. My career evolved around teaching Polish and French in secondary schools and FE colleges, being an Examiner for GCSE Polish Spoken exam, as well as being Head of an ESOL department.
I have taught Polish to adults which started as a short course and extended to almost 2 years and also at Polish Saturday schools.
