German Intermediate Term 3

German

Start date: 15th Sep 2025

Time: 11:30 - 13:30

Cost: £138

Day: Monday

Duration: 11 weeks

Tutor: Catherine Jennings

Course code: 25AU132

This is the final term of the intermediate course and will continue on from the previous term.

The course includes practice of the four language skills  - listening , speaking, reading and writing but focuses in particular on the first three.

Topics include aspects of German culture such as the education system, leisure trends, the world of work, Berlin, different regions and landscapes, health, environmental issues but there is always scope to cover any topic of interest to the class – nothing is set in stone!

We do follow a coursebook ( Willkommen 2 German Intermediate Course by Heiner Schenke ) but this is supplemented by other resources such as handouts, video clips, songs, poems and the vast amount of material available online. New students need not purchase a coursebook immediately as the first couple of lessons will involve some ice-breakers and revision after the summer holiday.

We will also cover aspects of German grammar but will try to integrate it into the topic work carried out in class. It is helpful if new students have prior knowledge of the present, past and future tenses but these will also be revised during the course .

The main objective of the course is to practise and consolidate spoken and written German and have fun while doing so!
