Gardening - Designing Borders for Year Round Interest (Held in Burton Leonard)

gardening for year round colour

Start date: 13th Jan 2026

Time: 10:00 - 12:00

Cost: £85

Day: Tuesday

Duration: 3 weeks

Tutor: Georgina Bordewich

Course code: 26SP050

The Course will be held in the potting shed classroom in the beautifully landscaped garden of Prospect House in Burton Leonard.  We will use the garden to illustrate some of the principles of garden design under discussion.

We will be covering the following topics:

*              How to do a site evaluation of your borders, including aspect, soil, climatic restrictions etc.

*              Easy steps to build up a border design with strong rhythm and repetition.

*              Evaluating and integrating seasonal interest

We encourage all participants to have a particular border in mind so we can use these as real case studies to work on in class. Each student should leave with good ideas to implement in their own gardens.
