France in the throes of seismic changes due to the widespread advent of new technologies and of the after war baby boomers coming into the workforce.  The role of women is  changing rapidly.  Despite de Gaulle's promise to put France back on the map, the country is shrinking in power in the world but growing rapidly in terms of  population.  The course will look at the position of the country in relation to Europe and the world and will continue to look  art all aspects of culture ranging from literature to cinema and from music to art.  All that whilst sipping wine.  In other words a real treat!

Alain was educated in both France and the UK. Keen to partake in discussions about as many aspects of French life as possible using various media. Has a few years of experience in terms of teaching. Has been running a French film club for a number of years for the people of Harrogate
