This course is aimed at beginners and those with some floristry experience.  We will focus on colour theory and the elements and principles of design through our work. The course includes making an autumnal wreath .

Additional Costs:
Students are expected to purchase their own flowers and foliage each week. Seasonal flowers and materials foraged from the garden and countryside work well in creating the current natural look. Please bring a pair of secateurs if you have some at home. Wires, ribbons, tapes and other items are included in the cost of the course. A floristry pin frog is useful but not essential. One with the large diameter can be purchased online.

This course aims to: Introduce and develop a wide range of floristry skills using current practice and modern trends. We will cover a variety of designs such as a woodland arrangement . Also we will look at the use of berries in Autumnal floristry.

Elaine Hadfield

Elaine Hadfield

Elaine has an honours degree in Primary Teaching and a Diploma in floristry from Askham Bryan College graded distinction. After working for a few years in a popular local florists shop learning all aspects of floristry she taught classes to both adults and children as well as successfully working as a freelance florist on weddings , events and working with a variety of florists. Wedding cake speciality work was undertaken designing floral decorations for a local company. Elaine is very excited about sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm with students at Rossett School.
