This course is for:
Students who want to learn or refresh their understanding of how to create simple clothing items using basic patterns of their choice.

For the first session students will need:
Students will need to bring a beginner’s pattern, fabric, thread and any other materials required for their chosen garment design. Please do not choose a pattern that requires silky or stretch fabric.

The course will cover how to work with a commercial pattern, choose appropriate materials, use a sewing machine, and select and create suitable seams, darts, fabric shaping and finishing methods to produce a garment of your choice.

By the end of the course, students should be able to make a simple garment accurately with a professional finish.
