A course for those starting out and those coming back to painting.
You will need little or no previous experience in painting.
You will develop practical skills, creativity, and confidence in a supportive relaxed learning environment.
Course Aim
- Getting over the fear factor of trying out new skills.
- You will be introduced to fundamental techniques, materials, and creative processes involved in painting.
- You will be enabled to produce finished artworks and continue to develop your artistic self in a more relaxed way.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course you should be able to:
- Know about essential watercolour techniques such as washes, blending, lifting, and layering.
- Identify and use basic watercolour materials and equipment.
- Understand basic colour theory and colour mixing.
- Apply simple drawing and composition principles to support painting.
- Create watercolour studies from observation, photographs, or reference materials.
- Produce a completed watercolour painting that demonstrate the skills learned.
- Reflect on your work and provide constructive positive feedback to others.
All materials will be supplied but you are welcome to bring your own if you wish.
