The course is suitable for beginners that have had no experience or very little experience in floristry. We will focus on the theory of design and learn current environmentally friendly techniques to make a variety of arrangements and a beautiful autumn wreath.

 

Additional Costs

 

Students are expected to purchase their own flowers and foliage each week. Greenery and floristry material can be foraged from the garden or countryside to be cost effective but also in keeping with the current natural design trends. A floristry pinfrog can be purchased online and is useful but not essential. Please bring a set of secateurs if you have some at home. Wires, tapes, ribbons and other materials will be provided in the cost of the course.

 

This course aims to :

 

Introduce students to a variety of skills, techniques and methods used in the professional floristry industry covering recent trends.

Elaine Hadfield

Elaine Hadfield

Elaine has an honours degree in Primary Teaching and a Diploma in floristry from Askham Bryan College graded distinction. After working for a few years in a popular local florists shop learning all aspects of floristry she taught classes to both adults and children as well as successfully working as a freelance florist on weddings , events and working with a variety of florists. Wedding cake speciality work was undertaken designing floral decorations for a local company. Elaine is very excited about sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm with students at Rossett School.
