Using seasonal spring flowers we will focus on their use in design including continental floristry and current spring designs . We will make a decorated birch wreath and a heart wreath from cornus . Our focus will be on colour through spring

Additional costs: Students will be expected to purchase their own flowers and foliage each week. These materials can be from the garden, countryside or hedgerows where permitted. Please bring a pair of secateurs if you have some at home. Wires, ribbons and floristry tape will be included in the cost of the course. At the end of each week you will be briefed on what to bring the following week.

This course aims to: Improve floristry skills through design and increase knowledge of handling spring materials through design.

Elaine Hadfield

Elaine Hadfield

Elaine has an honours degree in Primary Teaching and a Diploma in floristry from Askham Bryan College graded distinction. After working for a few years in a popular local florists shop learning all aspects of floristry she taught classes to both adults and children as well as successfully working as a freelance florist on weddings , events and working with a variety of florists. Wedding cake speciality work was undertaken designing floral decorations for a local company. Elaine is very excited about sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm with students at Rossett School.
