Recycled Durable Paper Bead Jewellery

This 3 week course explores paper bead making techniques utilising recycled papers such as wallpaper sample books, old maps or music scores.

You will learn 2 paper bead making methods in the first two weeks, producing 5 sets of beads, fully varnished and waterproof.

In the third week, you will choose 2 of these sets of beads and make them into beautiful jewellery.  The tutor will then provide you with the materials and instructions to continue at home, with the other 3 setsyou have made.

The course requries a moderate level of dexterity and there will be use of tools including jewellery pliers and bead rollers.

Sarah Hallworth

I have been teaching for many years both in jewellery making and my previous occupation, respiratory nursing. For the last 6 years, I have run jewellery making workshops for both adults and children. Jewellery making has been a hobby/obsession for 3 decades. I have a wide range of experience in design techniques and use a variety of methods in my work, including wirework at various levels, knotting and threading techniques and bead making.
