Recycled Durable Paper Bead Jewellery

This 5 hour day course explores paper bead making techniques utilising recycled papers such as wallpaper sample books, old maps or music scores.

You will learn 2 paper bead making methods in the morning, producing 2 sets of beads, fully varnished and waterproof.

In the afternoon, you will make them into beautiful jewellery.  If you have time, you can make additional beads and the tutor will then provide you with the materials and instructions to continue at home, with the other beads you have made.

The course require a moderate level of dexterity and there will be use of tools including jewellery pliers and bead rollers.

Sarah Hallworth

I have been teaching for many years both in jewellery making and my previous occupation, respiratory nursing. For the last 6 years, I have run jewellery making workshops for both adults and children. Jewellery making has been a hobby/obsession for 3 decades. I have a wide range of experience in design techniques and use a variety of methods in my work, including wirework at various levels, knotting and threading techniques and bead making.
