This course is for: intermediate to advanced learners and aims to develop printmaking skills, use of colour, tone and texture.

This course will cover collagraph printing techniques including intaglio and relief, natural materials, cut away method, fire distress and editioning.

 The course is suitable for those with some printmaking skills and who want to refine and extend their knowledge and who also wish to learn new techniques and strengthen their confidence in use of colour, texture and creative experimentation.

There will be an opportunity to combine other simple print techniques with collagraph to extend students’ learning. Student’s prior learning and their expectations about the course will be assessed through individual student discussions at the start of the course.

Shaeron Caton Rose

I am an artist working mainly in Printmaking and Installation and have exhibited across Yorkshire for about 30 years. I have a degree and an MA in Printmaking and have a wide print knowledge including linocut, collagraph, drypoint, silkscreen, lithograph, and textiles printing. I have taught painting, drawing and print to adults for many years in Leeds, Bradford and Knaresborough. I work part time as a Workshop Leader in Printmaking at Henshaw’s Arts & Crafts Centre and as a Social Artist, delivering community art projects in Bradford and Leeds. I also run Art & Wellbeing retreats with fellow artist Linda Baines as part of ReCreate. I write a monthly online art meditation for Leeds Methodist Mission and have also written a book Soul Art which will be published by Wild Goose Publications in 2021.
