During the first half of the twentieth century, he developed a system of exercises which were intended to strengthen the human mind and body. Pilates believed that mental and physical health were interrelated.
Pilates focuses on building strength and flexibility as well as posture. It improves mobility as well as building awareness and coordination throughout the body. It is a gentle and effective way to return to exercise and can be practiced alongside other sports and exercise to improve technique and significantly reduce the risk of injuries.
