This course is for; Everyone from beginners to advanced learners
No Drawing experience needed

All materials provided.

This course aims to explore pastel painting techniques, balancing technical guidance with the freedom of choice in a several week project to get your teeth into.
Once you have enjoyed two weeks learning how this medium can be manipulated, you will be set a three week project of your choice: Abstract, Landscape, portrait or still life, giving beginners an opportunity to build their confidence by trying something new and experienced Artist a chance to step up to an engaging challenge in a supportive learning environment!

Students will learn about how to manipulate colour to achieve balance and texture, mark making and exploring the difference between Oil and Chalk Pastel, mixing a palette on the page and how to gain depth with colour placement.

Art is a continual learning process and this course would also give previous students the opportunity to progress their skills further, whilst exploring new challenges.

The course will cover:
A flexible workshop environment to enjoy the endless possibilities of Chalk and Oil Pastel
Help and guidance with colour composition, mark making and exploring the difference between Oil and Chalk Pastel, mixing a palette on the page and how to gain depth with colour placement.

By the end of the course students should feel confident with their progress using a range of Painting skills and be able to judge, create and assess accurately having devoted several weeks on their chosen subject

Sharon is an innovative thinker, whose focus is on the student’s journey, she has empathy and passion for Art, with the ability to adapt learning to relate to all levels.
