We will cover the basic principles of relief printing including cutting techniques and mark making, layering techniques such as transverse and reduction cut, with use of experimental processes including Lino etch.

We will learn more about using ink to achieve the results we would like to achieve, such as viscosity printing and intaglio with relief.

There will be the opportunity to develop your prints from original artworks of your own or images that you bring with you.

Shaeron Caton Rose

I am an artist working mainly in Printmaking and Installation and have exhibited across Yorkshire for about 30 years. I have a degree and an MA in Printmaking and have a wide print knowledge including linocut, collagraph, drypoint, silkscreen, lithograph, and textiles printing. I have taught painting, drawing and print to adults for many years in Leeds, Bradford and Knaresborough. I work part time as a Workshop Leader in Printmaking at Henshaw’s Arts & Crafts Centre and as a Social Artist, delivering community art projects in Bradford and Leeds. I also run Art & Wellbeing retreats with fellow artist Linda Baines as part of ReCreate. I write a monthly online art meditation for Leeds Methodist Mission and have also written a book Soul Art which will be published by Wild Goose Publications in 2021.
