During these strange times Lou has found many more folks drawn to a slower and more mindful pace...exploring ways to curb anxiety and worry whilst keeping on top of general health and well-being.   These online sessions are proving popular so she is delighted to offer them to Rossett Adult Learning students...Just Relax...

The session begins with gentle seated movement to ease out the physical stress and tension.  You are then guided you in to a supported Restorative Yoga pose - you will have cushions and blankets at hand to take the effort out of relaxing.  

Restorative Yoga has its roots in ancient yogic tradition,  and can be used effectively to treat sufferers of chronic stress and PTSD.  Yoga props such as blocks and bolsters are typically used to take the stretchy-ness away from recognisable floor-based poses...comfort and support allows for a deeper sense of restfulness and release.  At home we can use a variety of pillows, cushions, blankets and towels - with all poses fully demonstrated and tailored to suit individual needs. 

This then leads in to a dreamy Yoga Nidra -  guided deep relaxation, often referred to as sleepless sleep.  You won’t have far to go afterwards to continue your relaxation.  

Students new to this course will be required to complete a confidential health questionnaire to establish any prior learning and to ensure that any specific needs can be taken into account in lesson planning. Please provide written consent from your GP prior to enrolment if you have a medical condition which may affect your ability to participate in the physical practices.  All new students to this course will be required to fill in a PARQ form and email to adultlearning@rossettschool.co.uk prior to the start of the course.

Lou Moore

Lou first attended a yoga class almost twenty years ago, and knew straight away that it would become a way of life and a passion that she wanted to share. She trained with the British Wheel of Yoga, Dru Yoga and further specialist training in Trauma-informed restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra and began teaching in 2007, whilst also discovering the joys and stresses of motherhood. Her students to date have ranged in ages from two to ninety two, but she much prefers teaching well behaved adults!

Lou is also a qualified massage therapist and takes a special interest in adapting a yoga practise to suit any physical or health limitations. When she is not promoting calm and stillness Lou likes listening to loud rock music and whizzing down a mountain on a snowboard!
