This course aims to develop Linocut Printmaking skills with a Jigsaw method of printmaking using one plate to produce a several colour print.
The class will cover:
Designing and producing a Jigsaw multi colour linocut plate and exploring ways to adapt the design to create a colourful linocut Print. Student will learn how to use an etching press to create their multicoloured print in a single run.

This is suitable for beginners who want to build their core skills and become more confident and enjoy the effects of print or advanced learners who wish to improve their techniques and learn new ways of working with Lino in a supportive learning environment.
It would also give previous students the opportunity to explore new challengers and progress their printmaking skills further

The course will cover 

Designing a Linocut from picture reference
Learn how to carve safely with linocutting tools
Producing a Jigsaw Linocut plate and understanding colour placement
Creating texture and mark making within the Lino plate
Exploring multicolour print design
Producing a multicolour linocut Print from an etching press

By the end of the course students should feel confident in using linocut printmaking techniques and be able to judge, create and assess accurately.
