In this fascinating course we explore the role of women in the development of French society through the ages.

The course will look at various women who have played a role, sometimes crucial, in the development of France:  We will consider, the arts, literature, politics, religion and even in the art of war.  We will also consider whether there has been an improvement over time of the status of women in the country and whether this is reflected in the role women have in society today.  Has the influence and work of Blandine, Marie de France or Marie Curie changed the life of women?
