Exploring mixed media, collage and pattern

Playing with shape, imagery & messaging. No drawing experience necessarily required, just bring an open mind and let your imagination flow.

This course is intended to be fun and even relaxing, whilst all the while, under the surface an understanding & appreciation of scale, colour, texture, composition & mixing materials is being developed. Simultaneously opening new routes to expressing your inner thoughts & feelings. Irony, anger, pathos and comedy are all possible to get down on the page! It doesn’t matter if you have no drawing skills, or feel stuck in letting your creativity out should your skills be a little rusty, or even whether you already have some drawing /printing/making skills under your belt….This course can be both thought provoking and amusing, potentially unlocking a new, fun and rewarding path to creativity.

Whether you are a beginner, or returning student, please feel welcome to come explore with me. All materials are provided, but should you develop a specific subject matter interest it may be necessary for you to source items personal to your work, and anyway you will be encouraged to find images for collaging that you are personally drawn to, this will be discussed in the early stages of the course.

There’s no push of any one strict approach….here each individual finds a way of expressing themselves, taking a personally satisfying direction… all the while being encouraged and guided by myself.
