Start date: 1st Feb 2022

Time: 19:00 - 21:00

Cost: £38

Day: Tuesday

Duration: 3 weeks

Tutor: Sarah Hallworth

Course code: SP22062

This 3 week course can be a follow on from ‘Paper beading’ or be taken independently.

The course will teach you the technique to make durable, beautiful dragonflies which can be small enough for use in jewellery making or much larger ones for clip-on ornaments, placing in flower arrangements on sticks or hanging from the ceiling!

The paper used in the dragonfly making comes from used wallpaper sample books and is a fabulous way to upcycle these materials into something lovely.

The paper is varnished so that it becomes hard and durable and largely waterproof, however not recommended for the garden in the long term.

This course requires a moderate degree of dexterity and the use of tools including pliers and cutters.

In the first week, we will produce some dragonfly bodies, using different techniques to decorate them. Then in week 2 and 3 we will make wings, tentacles, etc and combine all the pieces.
