Durable paper dragonflies

Start date: 18th Mar 2022

Time: 12:30 - 16:30

Cost: £25

Day: Friday

Duration: 1 weeks

Tutor: Sarah Hallworth

Course code: SP22019

This 4 hour day course will teach you how to make beautiful paper dragonflies, using recycled wallpaper sample books.

You will first be rolling 2-3 dragonfly bodies and varnishing them. Then while they dry, you will learn to make the wings, antennae and other parts. We will then assemble the dragonflies, so that you should go home with either 2 or 3 completed specimens.

The dragonflies can vary dramatically in size from pendant sized to large clip on ornaments or mounted on sticks to put in flower arrangements.

The course requires a moderate degree of dexterity and the use of tools including pliers and cutters.

The dragonflies are varnished with a safe and pretty much waterproof coating. However they are not recommended for long term garden use.
