The course aims:To use charcoal, graphite and ink to develop complete beginners drawing skills.

This course is suitable for absolute beginners who want to learn to draw but may have been too nervous to try. It will build their core skills and they will become more confident by enjoying the different drawing mediums in a supportive learning environment.

The course will cover: creating life studies, mark making, tonal value and perspective.

Understanding drawing techniques and how we see,
Using graphite to work with line and perspective.
Drawing exercises to develop judgement.
Building an image through tone,
Using drawing exercises to develop observation and understanding the five elements of shade.

By the end of the course:
Students should feel confident in using a range of drawing materials and be able to judge, create and assess accurately in different mediums.
