This course aims to continue the practice and development of core drawing skills and will allow previous students to progress further and introduce new students to inspiring ways of learning to draw.
This course aims to develop drawing skills through various techniques and drawing exercises use Charcoal, Water Soluble Graphite and Black and White Pastel, to develop drawing skills.
The structure of the on going course and drawing exercises allows beginners, and students with some drawing experience to master techniques at a comfortable pace.
It will cover line, texture, mark making, tonal value and perspective
This course will suit anyone who want to build their core skills, become more confident and enjoy the different drawing mediums in a supportive learning environment.
It would also give previous students with some experience the opportunity to progress their drawing skills further tackling subjects such as still life, landscape and Portraits whilst exploring new ways of using different mediums.
Students’ prior learning and their expectations about the course will be assessed by individual student discussions at the start of the course.
The course will cover
Materials, techniques and basic rules of drawing.
Drawing exercises to explore tone and line.
Re-addressing exercises to improve observation and accuracy
Working from an image reference, Still life and portrait
More about the depth of tone and achieving values in new mediums
Energy in the line, perspective and object relationships.
By the end of the course students should feel confident with their progress using a range of drawing materials and be able to judge, create and assess accurately in different mediums.
