Beachcomber Crafts - Create a Sea Theme Picture

Diorama2

Start date: 16th Jul 2022

Time: 09:30 - 14:30

Cost: £30

Day: Saturday

Duration: 1 weeks

Tutor: Sarah Hallworth

Course code: 22SU051

This is a day course lasting 5 hours. During the day you will design and make a seaside themed scene on driftwood which will be put into a 3D box frame to create a beautiful diorama.

Using pictures and objects, supplied to inspire you, you will create tiny cottages, a lighthouse, a boat and other tiny features to create a scene. Materials involved will include driftwood, lightweight clay, balsa, tacks, chain, moss, sand and tiny pebbles.

Your project will be painted with acrylics and varnished before framing. It is then ready to hang at home.

This day course is so lovely and immersive that students usually forget to eat their lunch and cannot believe the 5 hours has elapsed!

Weather allowing, we can work outside under the canopy. Please bring lunch just in case.

This course requires the use of cutting tools, electric hand tools and messy paints and varnish so wear an old shirt.
